Clay Bolt is Manager of Communications for WWF's Northern Great Plains (NGP) Program and Manager of Pollinator Communication for WWF-US.

In his role as lead communicator for the NGP Program, Clay provides strategic communications guidance and support for the NGP Program's goal of protecting the grasslands of the Northern Great Plains, restoring plains bison and black-footed ferrets, partnerships with Indigenous nations, and its Sustainable Ranching Initiative. As the Manager of Pollinator Conservation for WWF-US, Clay leads organizational strategy to protect pollinators through habitat restoration, pesticides reduction, and pro-pollinator policy.

Clay is also a Natural History and Conservation Photographer specializing in the protecting the world's smaller creatures. His photography appears in publications such as National Geographic Magazine, The New York Times, and National Wildlife Magazine. Clay is a Senior Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers, a Fellow of the Linnean Society of London, and a past president of the North American Nature Photography Association. In 2017, he was a leading voice in effort to place the rusty-patched bumble bee under the protection of the Endangered Species Act and North America's first native bee to achieve this status. In 2019, he became the first photographer to document a living Wallace's Giant Bee—the world's largest bee—as part of a four-person exploration team to rediscover the species in the Indonesian islands of North Maluku.
